The Koru Foundation is developing partnerships between the renewable industry, NGO's and Academic Institutions to instigate research into the use of renewable energy projects in developing countries.

The projects focus on:

• Developing affordable and appropriate renewable energy technologies.
• Improving energy efficiency and operation of existing renewable energy systems.
• Developing easily replicable business models, that allow poor communities to exploit small-scale renewable energy systems.
  
• Developing management and ownership models for implementing community focused renewable energy projects.
