Our Aims
The Koru Foundation was set up against the background of climate change and continued extremes of poverty in developing nations. Renewable energy is a growth industry which is offering low carbon energy solutions; we believe renewable energy is an appropriate and sustainable solution to energy poverty in developing countries. The Koru Foundation aims to:
- Act as a link between the renewable energy industry and impoverished communities impacted by climate change
- Fund, facilitate and initiate projects in partnership with local communities, aid organisations, the renewable energy industry and governments
- Develop renewable and sustainable technologies appropriate to the ecological, social and economic environment of communities impacted by climate change
- Foster and fortify links and networks to support advocacy and the development of sustainable and adaptation and mitigation projects
